The record an agent cites under the FCA product governance rules and the Consumer Duty, for every issuer listed in the UK.
In the UK a firm that distributes a financial instrument works under two sets of FCA rules at once: the Product Intervention and Product Governance Sourcebook (PROD), which wants the distributor to understand the instrument and its target market, and the Consumer Duty, which wants retail customers to get products that meet their needs and information they can understand. agent-prod.ai hands an agent the issuer facts both rules lean on — 1570 companies on the London Stock Exchange Main Market, AIM and Aquis, sourced from Companies House, the RNS trail and the LEI register, stored and served in London.
1 The duty, in UK
- 1.1
- PROD 3: the product governance requirements for firms that manufacture or distribute MiFID financial instruments; a distributor obtains the information it needs to understand each instrument and identifies the target market for it.
- 1.2
- Consumer Duty: Principle 12 and PRIN 2A of the FCA Handbook, in force for open products since 31 July 2023; the products and services outcome and the consumer understanding outcome apply to retail business.
- 1.3
- Who carries them: brokers, wealth managers and platforms authorised by the FCA, and the firms that manufacture what those platforms list.
- 1.4
- What stays with the firm: the target market assessment, the fair value judgement and the customer communications. PROD / Consumer Duty decisions are the firm's; the record is what the agent reads first.
2 What the record answers under PROD / Consumer Duty
- 2.1
- Which venue and segment the issuer sits on: Main Market, AIM or Aquis, with the LSE trading segment code where the issuer profile gives one.
- 2.2
- Who the issuer is at Companies House: company number, filing history, previous names, and the LEI that binds them.
- 2.3
- What the issuer has told the market: the RNS and wire trail for twelve months, typed — results, director dealings, major holdings, AGM notices — each with its announcement URL.
- 2.4
- Where a source refused the machine: the gap line names the source and the refusal, so the file says what was not read.
- 2.5
- Supervised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA); the record is public-record only — no prices, quotes or licensed market data, nothing inferred, blank stays blank.

5 Known gaps
United Kingdom (uk-cm-kg). FCA National Storage Mechanism: api.data.fca.org.uk HTTP 403; UI behind a terms-of-use modal (not accepted by the machine); no per-issuer URL — the column holds the search entry URL with the LEI to search by, labelled unverified; one Gaps line per row. Listing category: the LSE issuer profile returns listingcategory: null for every issuer; the workbook carries the trading segment code instead (SET1, SET3, STMM, SSMM, SSQ3, SSX3/4, IOBE/U). Auditor names not on the recognised firm list go to Gaps. (carried from: uk-width0 README, Sources table and build notes)
